Timothy Olah, PhD
Timothy V. Olah is originally from Fords, NJ. He graduated from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ in 1979 with a B.A. degree in Chemistry and three varsity letters in basketball.
After spending one year studying organic synthetic chemistry as a post-graduate at Washington University in St. Louis and three years as a Laboratory / Research Technician at St. Louis Children's Hospital, he returned to graduate school on the east coast.
He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA in 1989 with a Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry and joined the Department of Drug Metabolism at the Merck Research Laboratories in West Point, PA where he helped in establishing an LC/MS-based bioanalytical group. His supervisor was the late Dr. John D. Gilbert.
In July 2000, he joined the DuPont Pharmaceuticals Company in their Bioanalytical/Structural Chemistry group in the Department of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics .
Following the purchase of DuPont Pharmaceuticals by the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company in 2001, he was appointed the Director of Bioanalytical Research in their Pharmaceutical Research Institute.
His research centers on the development of rapid, accurate, and precise multiple component bioanalytical methods using automated liquid handling systems and liquid chromatography mass spectrometry detection to support pharmaceutical research and development in all aspects of drug discovery and development at BMS.
